Vanadium Chelate

On our next ingredient- actually was surprised not more out there about vanadium other than people selling it and a few very few sites that have information on it. I am using WEB MD and Wikkipedia for my information here.

The Chemical element for Vanadium is V23. The element is found only in chemically combined form in nature, but once isolated artificially, the formation of an oxide layer stabilizes the free metal somewhat against further oxidation. Vandium is used to treat Diabetes, low blood sugar, high cholesterol, heart disease, turberculosis, syphillis, anemia and water retention, for improving athletic performance in weight training and preventing cancer. There is proof that Vanadium may act as an insulin or help with the effectiveness of insulin.

Vanadium is safe in adults if taken 1.8 mg a day , if take at a higher doseage- more likely to cause diarhea and abdominal discomfort and other side effects. Vanadium is UNSAFE if taken in LARGE quantities for long periods of time- and could result in kidney failure.

People get Vanadium  from food and from supplements- it is recommended to get 6-18 mcg a day The various vanadium supplements contain a different amount of vanadium, depending on the chemical compound used. For example, vanadyl sulfate contains 31% elemental vanadium; sodium metavanadate contains 42% elemental vanadium; and sodium orthovanadate contains 28% elemental vanadium. The National Institute of Medicine has set the tolerable upper intake level (UL) of vanadium, the highest intake amount for which no unwanted side effects are expected, at 1.8 mg per day of elemental vanadium for adults. No UL has been set for infants, children, and pregnant or breast-feeding women. In these groups, vanadium intake should be limited to food.

For the record I would like to say ACE contains 20 mcg of Vanadium per 2 pills. and if you took the maximum dose would only be 40 mcg total per day, which is still way below the maximum amount of Vanadium to be considered dangerous.

So then I decided to look up more information on this subject- what kinds of foods contain vanadium and would it be dangerous to consume ACE at 20 mcg a day with food that contained it?  Well what I found was the following article on Live Strong and they say that most foods have NANOGRAMS not MICROGRAMS of Vanadium so our intake would be smaller than what would be suggested usage. and still way below any sort of dangerous amount if taking 2 capsules a day and eating the foods that contain it.

Grains and seeds are food sources with the highest vanadium concentrations. Black pepper, by far, is the food source with the greatest vanadium concentration. The vanadium concentration of black pepper is 987 ng/g. Dill seed also contains a significant concentration of vanadium. The vanadium concentration of dill seed is 431 ng/g. Gluten has a vanadium concentration of 33 ng/g. White rice is also a good dietary source of vanadium with a concentration of 21 ng/g.
There are several other dietary sources that contain a significant concentration of vanadium. Peanut butter is an excellent dietary source of vanadium with a concentration of 44ng/g. Egg yolk are another food rich in vanadium with a concentration of 21 ng/g. A can of beer also contains a meaningful quantity of vanadium with a concentration of 11 ng/g.Read more: http://www.livestrong.com/article/318066-vanadium-rich-foods/#ixzz20iorx0D4

WHAT IS ACE?

This morning I wanted to go a little deeper with what ACE really is- Yes it is a capsule- but why does it give you the energy? And how does it work? well with the mixture of ingredients- I mean really that is all there is to it. Check it out and do some research on it yourself if you like to see what else you can come up with- I looked up the following ingredients (not the first time I have done this) and these are the benefits and things that come out of each ingredient separately- the information I gathered is off of PURE MATTERS, WIKKIPEDIA, and MINERAL DEFICIENCY webpages and are not my own, however I cannot recall where I got the picture from- definately one of those sites.

Vitamin B-6? Essential vitamin supports many vital body functions, including nervous and immune system function.* Also plays a part in protein and fat metabolism.*Vitamin B-6 is a water-soluble essential vitamin needed by the body for good health.** It can be found in many foods including beans, meat, poultry, fish, some fruits and vegetables and fortified cereals.

Chromium plays a role in the release of energy from cells.**
Chromium supports carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism.**
Chromium helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels already within a normal range.**

Cocoa powder contains several minerals including calcium, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc. All of these minerals are found in greater quantities in cocoa powder than either cocoa butter or cocoa liquor. Cocoa solids also contain 230 mg of caffiene and 2057 mg of theobrime per 100g, which are mostly absent from the other components of the cocoa bean.

Green Tea-
Looking for a natural energy boost? Enhance your vitality and immune system health with Green Tea Extract. This powerful antioxidant offers a healthy alternative to coffee.A strong antioxidant that boosts immune system health*Helps promote healthy energy levels*Supports healthy metabolism*

Vanadium is a compound found in tiny amounts in plants and animals. Moreover vanadium is a trace mineral that is present in many foods and may be essential, in small amounts, in the body.
Vanadium supplementation has shown positive effect in peer reviewed studies for the treatment of: Diabetes,Cancer,Heart Disease.

I hope this shines a little more light on the subject for you and if you are interested please visit the tabs at the top of the page to see different sites and things about ACE from myself!
